COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
Coding And Python Workshop Instructor (2025)
One of my most recent projects was helping to conduct a workshop to teach high school students the basics of Python programming. As someone who has experience with Python, I loved the opportunity to share this skill with students who were just beginning their coding journey.
What made the workshop particularly rewarding wasn’t just teaching syntax and functions, but watching students develop problem-solving skills and logical thinking. I saw their excitement when their code worked for the first time, and their determination when trying to find and fix bugs. Programming has given me tools that extend far beyond computer science, and I hope I planted that same seed of curiosity in these students.
Turning Data Into Impact: School Fundraising Initiatives
Throughout high school, I discovered that my passion for data analysis could make a real difference in school fundraising efforts.
Canley Cup canned food drive (2023-2024)
For the Canley Cup canned food drive, I served as Media Manager and developed a data-driven approach to our campaign. I created visually appealing, easy-to-understand graphics that showed real-time progress which resulted in a 240% increase in donations compared to the previous year. But beyond the numbers, what excited me most was analyzing donation trends—discovering which grades were most engaged, identifying patterns, and using those insights to build momentum. Watching our community rally around the cause, fueled by transparent communication and friendly competition between grades, showed me the power of combining analytics with human motivation.
Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser (2023)
That same analytical mindset transformed our Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser. I led the data analysis, diving into sales figures across grades and classes, comparing them to previous years, and identifying trends that weren’t immediately obvious. When I presented my findings to parents and teachers, I tried to the story behind the numbers. Who were our top performers? What strategies worked? How could we improve next year?
Inventory Coordinator (2023-2024)
As Inventory Coordinator for our school program, I learned an important lesson: data only matters if you’re listening to the right questions. I conducted surveys to understand what students actually wanted, then used that feedback to inform our inventory design. The result was simple but significant—sales increased significantly compared to the previous year. It reinforced my belief that good analysis starts with understanding your audience.
